ODDLEWICK STUDIES
Oddlewick Studies is an ongoing world-building project centered on Oddlewick, an imagined place inhabited by gentle, strange and slightly uncanny beings. Here, altered scales, quiet absurdities and natural forces coexist with ordinary life, unfolding through fragments of landscapes, encounters and local characters that suggest a larger world beyond the frame.
I think of these images as a kind of imagined observational painting, as though a painter living in, or passing through, Oddlewick had taken an easel outdoors and recorded the scenes encountered there. The world is playful, slightly off-kilter and often mysterious, but its strange inhabitants are rarely treated as spectacle. They simply belong.
In spring 2026, a limited-edition print from the series was exhibited in Le Salon at Liza Fetissova Gallery in Paris, France. In September 2026, a short moving-image work developed from the series, Meanwhile in Oddlewick, was selected by an international curatorial committee and presented on large-scale billboards in Times Square, New York, as part of DISIVA’s GIANT SIGNALS exhibition.
Oddlewick Studies remains an open-ended world, continuing to grow through new places, inhabitants and small disruptions in everyday logic.
